A BounceU Halloween

November 1, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Bounce U had a special Halloween night… and I got to come up with some crafts and make them with the kids! We made SLIME and some cute flower pots to put a candle in decorated in all Halloweeny!

I got the slime idea from familyfun.go.com which is an awesome site for craft ideas! Click on the link and make the slime for yourself! The kids LOVED it!

Step 1: Mix glue and warm water.

Step 2: Add in food coloring and mix it all up.

Step 3: Mix borax and warm water in another bowl.

Step 4: Pour the mixture from step 3 into step 1. And BAM you have slime! :)

And… I finished it!

September 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The napkin holder that I started a couple of days ago is all finished! I got a wood plaque for the clips to attach to and made the napkins! Now I feel a little bit better about being environmentally friendly! I still have a long ways to go though!

I forgot to mention that me and Jeremy also bought some reusable shopping bags! We’re going to try to always use those and never have to take home plastic bags! :)

Recycled Scrabble LOVE

September 25, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I saw this idea either on a blog or in a magazine… (I should really start writing down where I find stuff more often)… and I thought it was really cute! The person who was writing about it said they wanted to begin using cloth napkins instead of paper towels and needed something to hang them on… so she made these! On hers she used the initials of each of her family members… but I thought the word “love” would be just as fun!

I haven’t made any napkins yet… but I am going to tomorrow! I am really trying to “go green” more and this is one step forward! So anyway… this is the start of the project…

Baxter’s Little Trunk

July 30, 2008 · Leave a Comment

This is actually not a “trunk” in any way… but I needed something cute to put Baxter’s many clothes in! Baxter is my little weenie dog…. and I know some people think it might be a little silly to put clothes on dogs… but he is to adorable with them on!

Anyway… I was starting to misplace some of his clothes because they were scattered all about… so I bought a little Tupperware-type box (I don’t know what they’re actually called)… just for him!

I didn’t want to just put his name on it… because really… how CREATIVE would that be?! So I decided to make a little profile of a daschund! I am not the best artist… so the drawing is a little rough… but its cute enough for me! I used regular acrylic craft paints then sprayed a top coat of triple thick gloss glaze to keep it shiny!
