For the past couple days I’ve been a little Flickr nerd! I love searching on there for new craft ideas! I know its just pictures and no instructions but there are so many cool things on there! Here are two ideas that I saw and made!

I had so many clothespins left over from my napkin holder project that I had to find something to do with them! So I covered both sides with SUPER cute scrapbooking paper, with a coat of mod podge on top! They are so cute and I love them! I don’t have an actual clothesline that I use… but I will figure out someway to use them!

I found this to… a little mask made out of felt! We aren’t big on Halloween or anything though so we wanted something simple if we go to any kind of Halloween thing! If we wear these we will wear all black and be BANDITS! I also found some really cute bird masks, and I might just make that one to! :o )

And… I finished it!

September 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The napkin holder that I started a couple of days ago is all finished! I got a wood plaque for the clips to attach to and made the napkins! Now I feel a little bit better about being environmentally friendly! I still have a long ways to go though!

I forgot to mention that me and Jeremy also bought some reusable shopping bags! We’re going to try to always use those and never have to take home plastic bags! :)

Practice Felt Wallet

September 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

A while back when my felt fetish started I made a simple little felt wallet… but it wasn’t anything to brag about, (it was actually pretty bad!) So anyway… I was thinking about the things I did wrong and what I could do better and I made this new wallet! It’s still just practice, and nowhere near perfect but it came out OK!

I used regular quilting fabric for the money section and pockets! I will go ahead and admit to you all the flaw in the wallet… the pockets were TO SMALL! They wouldn’t fit my cards… they were so close though! :o )

I used velcro to close it… which I think I will stick with when I made my next one! But I think that I will have felt for the inside and some cute fabric for the outside… (basically flip flopped from when I did this time!) I’ll be sure to post when I get to the second time around!

Ok… yea so I’m 3 months early I know… but I just am super excited for the holidays! So… tonight I made a couple cute little ornaments out of some scrap felt I had lying around! I can’t even WAIT to hang them on our tree!

Craft Festival Prep

September 26, 2008 · 1 Comment

I have been making stuff for the craft festival a lot lately since I only have a month left… and today I made some new tooth fairy pillows! They aren’t stuffed yet and the pictures aren’t as good as I hoped… but you can still get the just of it!

So its a very rainy day and the light was terrible… and yes they are hanging on my blinds with clothespins… it was the best light I could get without a terrible washed out flash taking away the color! :o )

Recycled Scrabble LOVE

September 25, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I saw this idea either on a blog or in a magazine… (I should really start writing down where I find stuff more often)… and I thought it was really cute! The person who was writing about it said they wanted to begin using cloth napkins instead of paper towels and needed something to hang them on… so she made these! On hers she used the initials of each of her family members… but I thought the word “love” would be just as fun!

I haven’t made any napkins yet… but I am going to tomorrow! I am really trying to “go green” more and this is one step forward! So anyway… this is the start of the project…

Turned out BEAUTIFUL! I love it… and I love making them! I have already made another one and plan on making lots more! I am going to sell some of my items at a little craft festival in November and I am thinking of bringing a few of these with me!

Baxter was so proud of me… :o )

Ok… its offical… this is my FAVORITE thing I have ever made. I saw the idea on the Craftzine blog and loved it! So I got the materials, (all I actually had to buy was clothesline)… and I made it!

This is a VERY ROUGH first version… but more amazing than anything else I’ve ever made! :o )

Shopping Thrifty

So… today has practically been a perfect day! The weather is GREAT… and my car is finally fixed after having a dead battery all summer, (we thought we could save money by just driving one car,)… so I had the windows down listening to Darius Rucker… who’s voice just has something great about it… and absolutely LOVING life!

Anyway…I also went the the thrift store… looking for some old t-shirts to cut up to make this project… but found a gold mine of super nice clothes! I got 2 Gap, 2 Old Navy and 1 Banana Republic shirts… and the 2 regular t-shirts to craft with… trying to be GREEN and all…for only $15! It was a steal! Anyway… I am loving the suddenly changing summer to fall weather… and the fact that today I get to craft!

The Poncho that I made out of the Generation T book turned into look more like and “Un-Poncho”… lets just say it turned out terrible. I really need to work on it… or try again!
